This guide will demonstrate how AirServer can be used to wirelessly connect your portable device (tablet / mobile) to your computer to be recorded with Panopto. An active internet connection is required.
Android
1. Download AirServer from their website onto your computer. You do not need to install anything on your portable device.
2. Install the software. If you are running a free trial, click 'Begin free trial' when the software opens. Ensure the software is on when ready to connect your device.
3. On your Android device home screen, swipe from the top downwards to reveal the settings quick-view. Navigate through the settings and locate 'Smart View' and select.
- You may need to swipe down twice to reveal the full contents of the settings.

4. On Smart View, select your device name (the name of your computer running AirServer). Your handheld device will instantly connect and display on your computer screen.

5. Panopto can now be used to capture your phone screen. Open Panopto (via Canvas) and ensure AirServer is shown as one of your secondary sources. Use the dropdown menu to select your monitor if you are using more than 1 monitor on your computer. Set up the rest of Panopto as you would normally.

6. You are now ready to record. To disconnect your device from streaming, go back to your device, settings, and press Smart View again to close.
iOS

3. On your iOS home screen, swipe down from the top to reveal the settings. Select 'Screen Mirroring'

4. On screen mirroring, select the device name (the name of your computer running AirServer). Your handheld device will instantly connect and display on your computer screen.
