Add custom backgrounds in Teams

To add a custom background from within the Teams application:

1. Open Teams on a device with a usable camera.
2. From the Calendar tab, select Meet now > Start meeting > Join now
3. Select ... > Video effects and settings >  Add new
4. Locate and add the image

To add or remove backgrounds from the Windows version of Teams:

1. Right click on the Windows Start menu
2. Select File Explorer
3. Add the following to File Explorer's location bar:
   

   %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams\Backgrounds\Uploads
   

4. Add or remove backgrounds in the displayed folder

The changes will be visible when you next use Teams. The preview pane may show images in reverse, but display correctly in your meeting.

To add or remove backgrounds from devices running macOS:

1. In Finder, select Go > Go to folder...
2. Provide the following:
   

   ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2/Data/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MSTeams/Backgrounds/Uploads

3. Add or remove backgrounds in the folder

The changes will be visible when you next use Teams. The preview pane may show images in reverse, but display correctly in your meeting.
