Arranging a meeting in Teams

You can use a Teams meeting to conduct remote meetings using the audio, video, and sharing capabilities of Teams. This is a great way to come together with your colleagues both inside and outside the University. Read our Top Tips on Running Webinars in Teams.

Arranging a Teams meeting is a similar process to arranging a meeting or appointment in your Nexus365 calendar. A Teams meeting can be arranged using Outlook on (Windows and Mac), Outlook on the Web or through the Teams Application itself.

Recommendation: Use Teams instead of Skype for meetings

Please note the linked Microsoft guidance includes instructions for arranging a Teams or Skype for Business meeting. The recommendation is that you use the Teams meeting option rather than the Skype for Business option for an online meeting.

Your calendar in Teams is connected to your Nexus365 calendar. When you schedule a meeting in Teams, it'll show up in Outlook, and vice versa. Every meeting scheduled in Teams is automatically made into an online Teams meeting.

Microsoft Teams includes the Outlook add-in, which lets you create new Teams meetings directly from Outlook. You need to have the Teams app installed onto your desktop for the outlook add-in to appear.
