How to sign out of your SSO account

Your web browser will save the SSO details you use to automatically sign in to other University services protected by SSO. These details must therefore be removed when leaving a computer that may be used by someone else.

To remove your sign in details:

  1. If possible, sign out from any services you have used
  2. Go to the Self-registration Home Page, then select Logout

You can also remove the SSO details if you:

  • Clear the web browser's cache and cookies
  • Set the web browser to delete cookies and site data when it is closed
  • Remove the cookies for microsoftonline.com, together with those of services you accessed, such as ox.ac.uk, office.com, and sharepoint.com

You could also select Sign out everywhere from the My Sign-Ins website, though this will sign you out of services on all devices.

Accounts signed in by someone else

If you start to use a computer signed in by someone else, immediately clear the web browser's cache and cookies and then restart it.

Unauthorised account access is an extremely serious violation of the University's IT rules. Please report any data breaches to the University's Information Compliance team.
